Maddy Carty

R&B Soul Recording Artist


South London-born singer/songwriter Maddy Carty is an ex-BRIT School
student, in the same school year as Adele and Jessie J. Maddy went on
to study composition and performance at Leeds College of Music. After
graduating, she headed back to London to form her own band. Drawing
her inspiration from Bob Marley, Tracy Chapman, India.Arie and Van
Morrison, Maddy writes all her own material. She has recently
performed at top London venues including Ronnie Scott’s Bar, the
Troubadour in Earls Court, the Hootananny in Brixton, and has also
appeared at Rootikal - David Rodigan’s club night in Shoreditch.
Recent festivals include the Tolpuddle Festival, London International
Ska Festival and Skamouth. Maddy’s debut album is released later this year.

Maddy wrote her new single Get It Right, using samples from the
classic Skatalite’s track Naked City. The single is produced by
Benjamin Hickmott, aka Pepper Sleeves. The executive producer is Chris
Peckings, recently voted Best British Reggae Producer at the British
Reggae Industry Awards 2013. The demo of the track has already been
championed by legendary British reggae DJ David Rodigan on his Kiss FM
show, and Rodigan is continuing to support the single on his BBC 1Xtra
